A few of us skied the Snake and the Naked Lady Couloir on Snowdon Peak just ahead of this past weekend's storms. The report and photos can be found at the link below, for anyone who's interested. Stay safe out there!
Thanks for providing visual stimulation for yet another trip to the glorious San Juans. You guys make it all look easy peasy, as usual. Now, 6'800 feet for the Snake from YBB? Ouch. Maybe Blaine Basin will be less vert if road to Dallas TH is open. Sneffels area is unusual - the more I go there, the more things I see to be skied or climbed.
Both of these lines have been on the list for a while, thanks for another appetite wetter! I wonder if it was Eric (gueza) you saw skiing off Sneffels? He was up there on Thursday skiing Birthday Chutes. I got a summit update about 11:30, though that may have been when I got service up on Silverheels.
Natalie - Yeah it's definitely a large day with skis from the gate closure. Waiting until the gate officially opens on May 1st would certainly help things. Blaine looked...like a lot of work, to me at least, but maybe it's not as bad as I think it is. And yes, Yankee Boy is dang sweet! G'luck with all of your spring plans :P
Otina - If he skied it Thursday that almost certainly had to be him!
The Most Wanted Man on His Island - You should hit Snake for sure. The section from the top of the couloir to the summit would be right up your alley, with plenty of high resistance options to boot :D
...that you've written a trip report about a line I'm interested in. Always a fun distraction from work.
Great read thanks for all the great write ups.
