 Crystal take me away!
Crystal Peak from Spruce Creek Road (oops!)
~3200' of gain and 10 miles RT.

We had a quick weekend without the kids, friends flying in from Seattle, and an upgraded condo in Breckenridge. What's a person to do?

We were going to do Quandary, but I decided that since they were coming from sea level, we would try something significantly easier, a centennial 13er.
I played the role of "guide" although I had never quite been there before. Anyway, I figured that even if we didn't make the summit, it would make for a pretty hike...
plus, I could selfishly tackle another centennial and another Tenmile peak on my list....

We've got a 2WD rental Rav 4, that's an off-road vehicle, right?

My DSLR lens is dying, and so all the pics ended up out of focus on the edges, and were overexposed. Using the magic of RAW files and lightroom, I was able to salvage some stuff.

Like this 5-shot panorama:

And this one of the flowers:

I didn't run into Bill Middlebrook or any other local celebrities, but the weather was just about perfect.

It was a good day

Just uh, don't fall in the creek on the way back:
