 50 State Highpoint completion
I summited Mt McKinley, aka Denali, on June 8, 2009 and then climbed Rainier on September 14 of the same year. It dawned on me that I'd climbed the hardest of the 50 state highpoints plus one of the more difficult ones, so why not do them all? ...

Congratulations, man! That's a huge accomplishment, and also must have involved a lot of traveling and exploring! That's a vague goal I have, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to accomplish it with everything involved.

Which were your favorites? Denali, Whitney, Granite, Gannett, Borah, and Hood all sound pretty challenging, but rewarding.

Outstanding way to think outside the box. That sounds like a helluva day.

My favorite peak was Denali because it was beautiful and lasted more than a day or two. Gannett, Granite and Rainier were also a blast, but that makes it sound like I didn't enjoy the others. They truly were all a lot of fun. I've been to Hawkeye Point the most - probably a dozen times - as it is on the way when we visit my wife's father in Wisconsin. The hardest one to fit in to your schedule is Illinois as it is on private property and they will only let you in on a few days a year. It makes Culebra look super easy.
