I like the newspaper style layout of your report. Very interesting! Gotta love Rainier. I have to admit that the number of people in your photos is pretty scary though! We did Emmons early season and there was not another soul on the route so I was pretty wowed at the background crowds in your photos.

Thanks for sharing.

Its interesting that you mention the number of people. We passed all but two groups on the route during the climb up and down, and yes there were a lot of people on the route. After making it back to camp schurman, i checked in with the ranger (he was counting heads the night before) to let him know we were leaving a day early even though we had a permit for two nights. He mentioned that they had 60 people in camp, so leaving early would be appreciated. I questioned his number, since according to what i read, 48 is the limit at Schurman. He said that is the normal limit, but the park was doing a test to see how the camp operated at 60 people, so they gave out additional permits that weekend.

Either way, Sean and I felt like the crowds were kinda a pain, but only because we were passing everyone. If we had been at a similar pace, the other groups wouldn't have mattered since everyone was spaced out pretty well by the time they got on the upper mountain.

Just dawned on me that your report is from an online magazine and that's why it looks like that. Haha!
