Addicted to Fear: The Reality of My Journey In the Fisher's
How much fear can you handle?

Almost two years ago, I started a big goal of climbing all five of the major towers in the Fishers. Something maybe a dozen or so people have ever done since Layton Kor first established the Finger of Fate on the Titan. Little did I know how much mental damage it would take to get through it. This is what I went through on my journey of them. I'll admit, this was stressful to write as it came straight from what happened mentally and physically, nothing less, nothing more.

It's the harsh reality. If you don't get scared reading it, you belong in the Fishers. The memories will flow in my mind for the rest of my life. Soon enough, they'll seem to be distant fictional memories. I feel richer with each experience. At many times, I never thought I'd be able to write this trip report. I put everything I had mentally, emotionally, and physically into each of these towers. The harder they were, the more trauma I went through.

Recovering from the climb was sometimes almost as hard as climbing the route. It made me find who I truly was. It made me fight my inner demons. It made me battle what I thought the level of danger was. It changed who I was. For the last 8 years I've climbed, I've battled myself. I've pursued what my mind thought was never possible. Every hard/big climb has changed me in some way. It's made me pursue happiness.

Maybe that's why I do it.

A big thanks to Brian C for joining me on 4 of the 5 summits. Also a big thanks to Derek and David. These guys stepped up to the plate and made it possible for me to accomplish my goal. Without them, none of this would've happened. There the reason that the climbs they joined me on, were successful.

The report is long but it's meant to be that way. I feel as if I could write a book just on the climbing I've done in the Fishers. I could go on for much much longer.

Go climb ancient art
Then go climb Kingfisher
Then go climb Echo
Then go climb the Titan

Stop there and be satisfied

Also, most of the photo's are mixed up. Photo credit goes to all four of us. I'll see you out on the beach for now.

Onwards

Is about the only way I can enjoy this climb! Some friends want to do the Ellingwood Arete next summer. Even that is far from the same league as this! Good job getting up on them Fisher's!

From mud for the season. If you don't need to wear a jacket, you can't climb it.

Seriously though, one of the better climbing reads out there. Happy to be a small part of it.

... but supremely superb thus far! Such an amazing accomplishment. I don't think I'd ever have the ability to do those towers, but am sure glad you do so I can do some vicarious living! Hope to see you young fellers around this winter.
