Crestone Peak - North Pillar (Crestone Classic 5th class finished)
With the completion of the North Pillar I've now climbed the three "classic" climbs in the Crestones. Ellingwood Arete on Crestone Needle, The Prow on Kit Carson, and The North Pillar on Crestone Needle. All three of these climbs are super classic and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a challenge.

The trip report is on my blog, but I'll leave a few images here to give you a taste of what is in the report:

The route we took is in blue, with blue circles showing belay positions. We free solo'd the last ~200'.

For having only been climbing for a year or so. Nice report, good to see some esotericism (yes that's a word) on an otherwise popular peak.

Thanks, it's my first trip report I've put up here. Unfotunately we didn't get the summit or the Peak - Needle traverse, but that just means I need to go back!

Maybe next summer I'll try to do India and write up a good trip report on that one. I just want to be prepared for that one including bringing extra webbing and half-ropes to make potential bails easier.

That route looks really good. We were the two guys that bailed off the Ellingwood Arete that day and met you on the trail by the tent. Looks like the weather window for alpine routes is almost closed.

Nice job on a cool route. I have a couple of questions about the traverse from Crestone Peak to Humboldt. Would you mind calling me at 402-304-1257. Thanks. Robert

Those are the 3 climbs I want to do! I have only done Ellingwood Arete though. It';s been very hard to find someone willing to do the North Pillar or the Prow for some reason :(

Glad to see someone else doing the North Pillar...Well done!
