Winter's end, 2012. A celebration of what we love, a gathering of alpinists, a difficult and joyful journey to a peak seldom seen under winter's wrap.

Greg (Summitlounger) did a beautiful job covering this incredible late season trip in his recent report:
https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/tripreport.php?trip=11536&cpgm=tripmain&ski=Include

Here are some additional images, mostly from Britt and myself, that I wanted to share with everyone. This was an incredible trip
with the camaraderie of eighteen people on the mountain. We came in Friday morning, summitted Saturday, and broke camp on Sunday.

Britt Jones. Britt was a major motivating force in his desire to attain Holy Cross Ridge, a Centennial 13er.

The Tigiwon road is long - over eight miles - but is usually well-groomed in winter, thanks to a local snowmobile operation. Carrying the additional weight
of snowshoes and boots, to ski the road, is worthwhile.

Lynn and Rob. Lynn wanted a winter finisher this year, on Holy Cross. It turned out to be her pre-finisher. She has only one peak remaining.

Your photographic artwork is always a pleasure and, this time, makes a great complement to Summit Lounger's TR. I really enjoyed the weekend and your photospread is a present to all of us who wished for a memento.

There were almost too many people to visit with; I felt like I didn't get in enough conversation. (But, it was my own fault. I was anxious to get home as this weekend was the endcap of a final blitz week of winter hiking. I wanted to get home to see the kids.)
