5/11/2025 Posted On: 5/11/2025 By: scott_steele Info: Easily accessible by any vehicle. The snow from this year's early May storms has melted out. No muddy spots on the road.
3/29/2025 Posted On: 3/29/2025 By: F0rgott Info: Road easily accessible to TH. Low snowfall year though, so take this one with a grain of salt, future readers. Pushing further in was possible with 4wd.
10/29/2022 Posted On: 10/29/2022 By: daway8 Info: Much of the road was totally dry. For the intermittent sections with snow it was typically minimal and short lived except for one extended section in the shade but even there the snow was neither deep not problematic. Lots of vehicle traffic up there from all the hunters. There are all sorts of side roads along the way - many but not all of them have signs so I was glad to have GPS to make sure I got to the right place. Parking area at Grays Creek only has room for a few vehicles but there were other possible pullouts a little ways before.
11/13/2021 Posted On: 11/16/2021 By: heathcliff Info: Road is dry except for two patches of snow 1 inch thick for about 0.25 of the 7 miles of dirt road to this trailhead. Any truck or suv will make the trailhead easy. Many hunters in the area this time of year. Great car camping along road, and OHaver lake campground is free to use without fees after seasonal closure.
5/5/2019 Posted On: 5/5/2019 By: supranihilest Info: Completely dry to the trailhead. Good road, even my Civic had no trouble. The road to Marshall Pass looked snowcovered still, but people had at least attempted going that way.
10/25/2018 Posted On: 10/26/2018 By: KSU Wildcat Info: CR 200 is snow-free and mostly dry to the Grays Creek trailhead, and for several miles past. I did not go all the way to the Marshall Pass TH, so do not know status there. No problem or difficulty encountered while driving a Honda Odyssey mini-van.
6/10/2018 Posted On: 6/11/2018 By: E_A_Marcus_949 Info: Usual washboarding but clear to the TH!
5/13/2018 Posted On: 5/13/2018 By: Greenhouseguy Info: Grays Creek 2WD accessible and open for business.
1/6/2018 Posted On: 1/7/2018 By: SarahT Info: Still accessible, dry most of the way!
8/19/2017 Posted On: 8/19/2017 By: Thunderable Info: Good dirt road all the way to the TH wide enough to fit two cars (or a car and an ATV as our case was) most of the way. Any car can get to the TH with a little care to avoid a few deeper dips and rocks.
5/11/2013 Posted On: 5/15/2013 By: mtnfiend Info: Dry and easily passable with any 2wd car. 2 to 3 miles past the TH a good amount of rock fall was prohibiting further progress. My sense says the forest service or a road crew will have that cleared soon.
4/21/2012 Posted On: 4/23/2012 By: DanR Info: Road is dry to the trailhead and I made it easily in my sedan.
11/29/2011 Posted On: 11/30/2011 By: BillMiddlebrook Info: Trailhead is still accessible but there are some long icy and snow-packed sections on the road. 4WD is recommended right now. Another storm or two and this road will likely be closed. |
