12/11/2024 Posted On: 12/12/2024 By: bigfoot1 Info: Agree with previous update, they aren't fully plowing the lot and you can fit 4-5 cars along the left side of the lot but higher clearance cars can park over to the right.
6/5/2024 Posted On: 6/5/2024 By: justiner Info: This is just to note that Hoosier Pass now has a bus stop on it for the Park County Commuter. Current bus schedule can be found: https://cms3.revize.com/revize/summitcoco/Documents/Services/Transit%20Summit%20Stage/Bus%20Schedule/Summer%20Bus%20Schedule/PCC%20Sum%2024.pdf You will need to tell the bus driver you would like to make the stop. I enquired with him at the Breckenridge Station -- driver told me I was the first person ever he has had to be asked to be dropped off! | 5 |

3/27/2022 Posted On: 3/27/2022 By: Carl_Healy Info: A bit of mud and slush in the parking lot itself but not a problem access wise for any vehicle. Road's clear on both side of pass
11/25/2021 Posted On: 11/25/2021 By: RckyMntnHgh Info: Parking lot plowed and nearly dry from yesterdays approx 4-6 inches light snowfall. Tried to skin/ski early this morning and not much there at all to work with - all bare spots / rock skiing. Probably what was there is melted by now with todays bright sun and warmer temp. Great for hiking. Also, across the road from the parking lot, Heels is blown dry/bare.

4/10/2021 Posted On: 4/10/2021 By: ekalina Info: In great shape. There were only 3 other vehicles parked there when I arrived at 7:45 am (Saturday). Activity picked up by the afternoon.
1/20/2021 Posted On: 1/20/2021 By: daway8 Info: It's worth noting that while Hwy9 is obviously plowed, the parking lot at Hoosier Pass isn't (at least not today). Had to help someone in a rental 2WD without good tires who got stuck trying to get into the lot as I was about to leave. Most of the lot was well packed, just the entry and exit points were pretty sloppy but as long as you have halfway decent tires you should be fine.
7/11/2019 Posted On: 7/12/2019 By: 9patrickmurphy Info: You can drive up to about where North Star's route description says to park. There's a decently large pulloff maybe a tenth of a mile before a huge snowdrift. With all the snow melted, the only thing stopping you from driving to 13,000' are a couple of "no trespassing" signs, but the gate at 12,000' is open and the road is in really good shape all the way to the furthest mine. Not advising it, but interesting to note. Some really cool mine ruins to check out!
8/12/2018 Posted On: 8/12/2018 By: E_A_Marcus_949 Info: Stock Toyota Highlander and Subaru Forester made it up the 4WD portion of the road to about a mile below the mine parking lot - pulled off to the side to park. A few small obstacles and deeper ruts but nothing an SUV can't handle.
5/8/2010 Posted On: 5/9/2010 By: summers Info: Parking lot is cleared, and road is clear. Easy access. |
