The snow drift that is currently blocking the road is at the turn off for the lower lake. There are still a couple of pretty large snow drifts blocking the road in the last 1/4 mile. | ||||

5/10/2006 Posted On: 5/10/2006 By: BillMiddlebrook Info: Today, the road was narrowly opened to 11,300' before the final stretch below the dam. A 4WD is still recommended and you can drive to within 1 mile of the dam. The snow above this point will take at least a few more weeks to melt. |
