Info: As of 5/2/09 the snowbank is almost completely melted out. It doesn‘t even cover half of the road, very easy to drive around and avoid altogether. All vehicles can make it to the TH.

Info: snowbank is still present, at least 3 more weeks before the main road is passable. it is likely that you can take the right at the fork to get to Blanks Cabin. there was one truck at the TH today, I assume from taking the back route.

Info: On 3-14, snowdrift blocks 252 at Placer Creek crossing. Tried back way (250/250A) in 4WD, but sustained snow and increasing snow depth compelled turning around ~1.5 miles from 252/250 fork.

Info: Road blocked at the Placer Creek crossing. (13S 398331mE 4270282mN WGS84) 10 foot deep drift 150 foot long. Not opening up again anytime soon. Careful approaching after a recent storm as the road down to the creek can get slick and getting down to the creek is easier than turning around and getting out.

Info: As of 11/22 the road is completely dry to the trailhead. It‘s a bit rough in places, but I made it easily in a passenger car.

Info: Road to trailhead is fine, a couple of hairy waterbars though. 2WD passenger car made it fine. Placer creek campsite though is currently closed for revegitation. Some campsites across the FR252 appear to be trashed, not sure the legality of those though. But the placer creek campsite mentioned in the trailhead directions is currently closed.

Info: Same as previous. Road is in decent shape, but watch out for the water bars, as they are considerable in size in a couple of places.
