Route: North Ridge

Info: The Little Cimarron trail is quite good from saddle to ~11.5k. The trail is then deadfall choked down to the valley floor. Most of the upper section has been re-routed by helpful elk. From ~11.2k to the river crossing the trail is exceptionally faint and overgrown but staying on it is easier than any other option. Using your game trail eyes will be rewarded with easier passage.

Route: East Slopes from 13,051

Info: From the summit of 13,051 I went south then west when grass slopes opened up. Crossing Fall Creek was easy, there's plenty of rocks to hop. Some willow bashing. The ascent up 13,060 D was slow by this point in the day, it's about 1,000 vert from the creek on the Little Cimarron trail and steep grass. I reached the summit with about 4 ounces of water left and had 9 miles to go, so that was a fun death march. The Little Cimarron trail is initially easy to follow along the exceptionally long north ridge, since the trail is visible for miles. Around an old cabin the trail disappears, this is where it drops west into the forest. It's better in the trees but still fades in and out regularly and has plenty of deadfall. With snow cover or in darkness the trail would be difficult to follow. Eventually it reaches Little Cimarron River where I had to create my own rock hopping path, then follows the trail on the western side of the river, where it will eventually reach the ascent trail (assuming you looped these peaks like I did).
