7/10/2024 Route: North Fork Clear Creek Trailhead Posted On: 7/12/2024, By: JasonKline Info: Summer conditions. There was still a cornice on the southeast side of the saddle to the northeast of 13305 that we had to skirt when descending, but is was not a big deal and the remaining snow/ice was avoidable. There was a nice glissade on the way back to the trail. We went north to south and took a long, not so fun detour to the south of the notch, but it all worked out in the end. The descent from 13305 back to the trail went surprisingly well, and there was relatively little bushwhacking. |

10/22/2023 Route: From north fork lake creek Posted On: 10/22/2023, By: yaktoleft13 Info: Climbed 13295 and 13232 via the easy button (my favorite user-created route name). The entire route, other than a bit on the east ridges, were completely snow free. The snow was mostly inconsequential, other than a short section descending toward the lake. All the south facing routes north of Winfield (i.e. Ervin and blaurock) were completely dry. |

10/16/2020 Route: Via Sayres Gulch Posted On: 10/18/2020, By: supranihilest Info: I parked along CR391 and hiked CR382 up Sayres Gulch. The road up Sayres Gulch is a little less rough than CR391 and easy to follow on foot to the Sayres (misspelled Sayers on Forest Service maps) Gulch Trailhead. The trail thereafter is easy to follow until it runs through willow clumps and eventually ends in the upper gulch. Instead of ascending 13,295 directly I went under its north face and then ascended southeast/climber's left to its northeast ridge. Until the ridge the terrain was mostly grass with some talus and boulders thrown in, the remainder to the summit is annoying kitty litter scree and talus. Not difficult, just loose and irritating. I continued on to "Lake Fork Peak", but would have descended my ascent route if 13,295 was the only peak of the day. |

7/29/2019 Route: North Fork Clear Creek TH Posted On: 7/30/2019, By: IHikeLikeAGirl Info: Pic does not do it justice, but there's a very long (and high) cornice across the saddle to gain 13295. To get around it, would involve either cliff bands, or very loose, steep, rock...neither of which I was comfortable doing solo. I had an ice axe, but given the conditions of other cornices I've seen (separating from the ridge, deep cracks), I did not think it wise. Others I'm sure, would have had no issue with it, but I did.... Will go back and try 13295 from Jay521's TR route. The flowers were quite pretty though! |
