7/2/2021 Route: West ridge up, northeast ridge down Posted On: 7/2/2021, By: mijoflynn Info: From down in BV, it didn't look like Princeton ever got the 5-6 inches of snow they were forecasting earlier this week. Whatever it got, it's gone now: back to summer conditions. Ditto over to "Tigger." Took the northeast ridge down to the Mt. Princeton trail. It's a little looser on the lower half than on the upper, but I thought it was a pretty standard class 2 talus hop. |

1/7/2021 Route: From Mount Princeton Posted On: 1/7/2021, By: supranihilest Info: "Tigger" is quite easy from Princeton's saddle, really only a few minutes of hiking up snowy talus and boulders to the summit. We descended "Tigger"'s northeast ridge, which was by far the most annoying part of the day. Endless large talus and boulders with crap sugar snow on top and trap doors below. Tedious at best. Microspikes weren't useful for the ridge descent, but they might be if coming from Princeton, where there's more snow. Flotation only needed for the road approach. Ice axe not needed. |

2/22/2020 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 2/22/2020, By: TieDye Info: 02/17 Princeton report consistent, but all around less powder. Warm days mean consolidation on some aspects but previous slab activity observed. Followed 322 from Lower TH parking, wore snowshoes from Towers to the landing at 11900'. Rockhopped up Princeton trail to where you gain the saddle and ambled up the last 300' of gain on crest of Tigger NW Ridge. Crossed a few snowfields that gave me pause thoughout the day. Took Tigger NE Ridge back to 11900' landing on descent. Bluebird day. Aggressive trail runners with spikes are fair game until the next storm. 2/1/2020 Route: ENE Ridge Posted On: 2/2/2020, By: AnnaG22 Info: Very good trench in place on the Princeton road (obviously may change with the incoming storm). We jumped on the ridge at the second to last switchback. Ridge was mostly dry with avoidable snowdrifts. Other than the wind, quite pleasant for February 1. We used spikes on the snowy sections but didn't need poles or ice axes. |

7/6/2018 Route: Standard Princeton then down SE Slopes Posted On: 7/11/2018, By: sdicenso Info: I parked about 1/4 mile past the radio towers the night before and camped in my truck. Got an early start and hiked up to the saddle between Princeton and Tigger. Then made my way east following the trail and hopping over some talus occasionally. Went over every point to summit them all. Followed large cairns to the northeast to a wide meadow, then proceeded down to the southeast slopes. I could see the end of the 4WD road and trail just above it. It was a steep descent, but followed cairns through talus and scree. I stayed to the east of the ridge. It was never more than Class 2. Once I got to the bottom, I went and checked out a cabin and cross in the area. Then I made the long haul down the road. Not that bad of a route overall. |

This classic route is another recommended, straightforward path. Also, incredible views of many quality neighboring Sawatch Range Peaks (i.e. Mt. Antero). Conditions up high were spring bluebird. So, perfect for navigating these slopes and ridge line extremely well. Standard light pack with trail runners approach was good. Climb safely mountaineers. Pictures have been included as beta |
