9/27/2023 Route: From Wild Cherry TH Posted On: 9/27/2023, By: desertdog Info: Dry as a bone. Also did 13,122. Once you reach to the lake give yourself plenty of time. Theres a lot more to go from there. The Wild Cherry trail is in good shape. No creek crossings or downed trees. Note, CR AA has a 1.5 private property section that is gated on the entry and exit. Its open just make sure you close the gate behind you. |

6/22/2023 Route: Rito Alto Creek Posted On: 6/23/2023, By: malogos Info: Traversed over from 130, descended to the pass between 490 and Silver Peak, and exited via Rito Alto trail. The traverse had one unavoidable patch of snow. From the pass to 490, avoid all snow by sticking to the north part of the ridge and doing an easy class 3 climb (reminded me of Music Mountain). Only snow on the Rito Alto trail itself was near the top, and mostly avoidable. Mosquito season on the first 3 miles of the trail. Both the view from the peak and the valley are exceptional. |
