7/23/2023 Route: Operation Light Snake Posted On: 7/24/2023, By: blazintoes Info: From camp at 11,800 a quick jaunt through the trees and up the north slope of Purgatoires sub peak greeted by a beautiful sunrise. With katabatic wind at my back it was crispy cool all morning. The summit cairn is big enough to hide behind and layer up. I continued the traverse to Vermijo, Red and Culebra. I highly recommend paying $500 to get all 4 peaks for peak bagger tendencies as you knock out the whole shebang. Some trader insider info, if you do ODS you will get caught, be met by the sheriff, pay an agricultural trespass fee and have to find a way back to your car however you will be welcomed back if you pay. |
