7/21/2022 Route: South Ridge from 13,051 Posted On: 7/22/2022, By: supranihilest Info: All Class 2, but there's a lot of loss and gain between these two peaks and the last half mile or so to the summit of 13,016 is entirely on super irritating, wobbly, oddly shaped talus and boulders. Tedious to say the least. The northern spot elevation marked 12,999 on maps appeared higher so I went to that too, and in fact this peak appears higher than its southern neighbor 13,051 from every vantage point, including the summit of 13,016 and the summit of 13,051. I continued to formerly soft-ranked 13,060 D (now 13,050 LiDAR) by returning south and dropping down to Fall Creek on grass slopes. The trail is on the western side of the creek. I saw about 1,000 sheep down there. From there either take the Fall Creek trail down or brutalize yourself going up and then down the Little Cimarron trail. |
