11/2/2019 Route: North Ridge Posted On: 11/4/2019, By: supranihilest Info: The Sharkstooth Pass trail is excellent all the way to Sharkstooth Pass. From that point there are trail segments up Centennial Peak's north ridge which is covered in the La Plata Mountain's ubiquitous loose talus. The ridge is very straight forward and there's only hands-on scrambling if you want it, otherwise it's all just Class 2 hiking. There's snow on the ridge but not enough to make it more difficult or warrant traction, flotation, or mountaineering boots. My partner and I did it in trail runners and while our feet were wet and cold due to the snow we didn't think anything beefier was necessary. |
