7/19/2020 Route: North Slopes from Rock Lake Posted On: 7/19/2020, By: supranihilest Info: We did not go up over the pass for these peaks, instead going around the north side of Rock Lake then the south side of a small, unnamed lake to Rock's northwest. Our goal was the saddle between Peters and 12er Buffalo Peak to the north. From there we ascended steep, loose grass/scree/talus slopes up Peters. The exposure increased as we ascended but nothing was particularly difficult, going at about Easy Class 3 to the summit, but the loose nature of the entire slope kept my attention. We descended Peters' northwest ridge to Point 13,222 A, which was just a talus hop. Photos: 1) Peters' north face. 2) Point 13,222 A. NOTE: Since this was ascended a while ago and I'm just now getting back to internet, I've put today's date for visibility, since there hasn't otherwise been recent updates for the peak. I'll backdate this CR in a couple of days. |
