11/4/2020 Route: From Point 13,260 B Posted On: 11/4/2020, By: supranihilest Info: Again, a bit of a trek but easy. Head down rocky, snowy slopes northeast and then up Point 13,140 B's drier slopes. Unlike the previous two peaks 13,140 B's summit is a massive, flat pancake and difficult to determine where the true summit is. There's no summit cairn nor register that we could find. To return we went back towards 13,260 B, took the Continental Divide Trail part way around the peak, and then went back up and over Coney Benchmark. The trail is snowy on northeast facing slopes and it was simply faster and easier going up and over than trying to gingerly walk along the trail's margin to avoid the snow. Once back on Coney the route to the pass was obvious, what with trail and road to it. Thanks for the ride down Wager Gulch, Tyler - saved me two hours of that icy slip'n'slide. |
