6/4/2022 Route: Southeast Ridge via CDT Posted On: 6/5/2022, By: supranihilest Info: The trail approach from Thirty Mile Campground is lengthy, something like 11 miles just to reach this peak one way (Weminuche trail -> Rincon La Vaca connector trail -> CDT). The approach is all dry and there's plenty of downed trees on the CDT portion of it. From the saddle with Point 13,017 (LiDAR: 13,022) the southeast ridge is a Class 2 walk up first on scree, then mixed grass and boulders. I descended the east slopes down a steep, loose gully so I could walk into the window itself, which has a trail up to/down from it back to the CDT. |
