5/30/2026 Route: Animas Forks Posted On: 5/30/2026, By: osprey Info: This report covers both Tuttle Mountain and Houghton mountain. Two easy pieces with Tuttle being the easier. Wore trail shoes the entire way. Crossed some unavoidable snow fields without spikes. Descended the gully after Houghton as described in the TR of WildWanderer. Turttle summit cairn had a register. Looked briefly through some pages and saw names of Kiefer, Regina and Yousef. |

Fairly new register, nice views of the upcoming storm. Skied down towards Houghton and transitioned back to skins |

8/3/2021 Route: From Houghton Mountain Posted On: 8/3/2021, By: supranihilest Info: The ridge between Houghton and Tuttle is a little lengthy but easy at Class 2. Mostly grass and some scattered rock. The only steep part is gaining the false summit east of Tuttle. |
