10/16/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 10/17/2022, By: supranihilest Info: The standard way of doing the Nebo group by going up 13,230 A's northwest ridge was far too snowy for us to climb it, so we climbed 13,169 first then came back for the dry southern sides of Nebo and 13,230 A. From the end of 13,169's east ridge we simply went through the valley separating 13,169 from Nebo/13,230 A. Plenty of talus, willows, and swampy stuff in the valley. I just slogged through most of it since I had Gore-Tex trail runners, Whiley didn't and tried to avoid as much as possible. We ascended to the unnamed lake south of Nebo/13,230 A, then went up Nebo's southeast side on surprisingly stable dinner plated slate. |
