Info: It's not necessarily full winter conditions, but you're going to want gaiters and spikes for the ridge between V8 and Beattie. Plenty of snow there and that ridge is no joke. This was a lot spicier than advertised and the descent between the Beattie/Fuller saddle back to the car was UBER fun in the dark navigating the trees with cliffs on either side. Veer south as much as possible. Pics of surrounding peaks for shoulder season conditions. Most South slopes are very dry. No summit registers on either V8 or Beattie.

Info: Lots of fun scrambling on the connecting ridge between Point 13,300 D and Beattie Peak; route finding is never really a problem, mostly stay on or near the ridge crest and get your scramble on. Tons of Class 2+ and Class 3 on this ridge, most of which is solid. The very last bit up Beattie returns to Class 2 talus and scree on the crappy red rock of the area.

Info: V8 (13,300) and Beattie: The trail to Hope Lake was patchy snow as was the basin. Firm in the morning, but slushy in the afternoon. Didn't use snowshoes, didn't need them. I used crampons for a bit heading SE to hit the upper shoulder of the Hope Pass saddle. The ridge up and over V8 to Beattie was mostly dry, only iffy section was a notch, but very doable.

Info: I did the V8/Beattie ridge in that order, from Hope Pass to the Beattie/Fuller col, and descended to Lake Hope. Hope Pass to V8 goes Class 2 with steep, extensive loose scree which would probably be miserable to descend. The traverse goes Class 3 and is mostly enjoyable save for a 40-foot dirt/scree chute coming down from V8. Descent from Beattie northeast to the col is reasonable Class 2, and a use "trail" exists down to the col and below. Once below 12,600, do not head for the flat grassy area running west, but instead stay on scree as far east as possible, remaining right underneath Beattie's massif, for the easiest way down to the Lake Hope trail.
