8/24/2022 Route: Kendall BM to 13109 Traverse Posted On: 8/26/2022, By: JasonKline Info: Have you ever had the ridiculous idea of soloing the Kendall Benchmark to Pt. 13109 traverse when you only have a low-clearance sedan? Not only can you not set up the car caravan between the Titusville site and Deer Park as per bergsteigen's report, but you also have to park almost all the way down near Silverton because the road requires higher-clearance pretty early on? If you ever decide to engage in such foolishness, it took me about 16.2 miles and 7,300'. Also, the gully you ascend to reach Kendall Peak really is as soul-sucking as everybody says. At least it's still summer conditions. |

9/5/2021 Route: From Deer Park Posted On: 9/5/2021, By: Grover Info: Did the Pt. 13,109 > Whitehead > Rhoda loop. Very nice hike with solid trails for such obscure peaks. Parked at the end of 33A in Deer Park, went towards Pt. 13,109 first, then worked my way to Rhoda. Exited the ridge by heading down the slope back towards Deer Park. There is a mix of hiking and game trails here. Come for the solitude, stay for the amazing views. |

8/30/2021 Route: from Deer park Posted On: 8/30/2021, By: SnowAlien Info: Did a loop from Kendall peak to 13,109 staying mostly ridge proper. Kendall pk had a register, but other peaks didn't. We took the direct line up point 13,409 en route to Mountaineer pk (which looked somewhat questionable from the saddle), but it went at Class 4 without too much trouble, a bit loose. We took a fun scrambly variation up the summit block of Mt Rhoda. The rest of the loop was grass. We exited via well maintained Whitehead trail back to the truck parked at ~11,600 ft. Very smoky in the morning, but conditions (and views) improved in the afternoon. Also, there was a sheep herd down in the basin, but they had previously made up (with the poop) halfway up Mt Rhoda and all the way up to Whitehead summit. So domestic sheep climb 13ers too. |

9/17/2020 Route: 13109-Rhoda-Mountaineer combo Posted On: 9/17/2020, By: tjf242424 Info: No snow to deal with on this one. We approached from Highland Mary Lakes Trail and cut off towards Whitehead-Rhoda saddle just before reaching the first lake. We descended into Spencer Basin from Mountaineer to complete the loop. Awesome views of the Grenadiers. |

8/31/2020 Route: From \"Mountaineer Peak\" Posted On: 9/1/2020, By: supranihilest Info: There's a drop of several hundred feet from "Mountaineer Peak" to Rhoda. Rhoda's summit looks like all cliffs but go around the backside and there's a grass ramp to the top. |
