6/28/2022 Route: with Jackass and Wasatch Posted On: 6/30/2022, By: SnowAlien Info: Started from the bottom of the road, unsure of 4x4 section. There's a great trail to the falls and even above the falls (maybe new). Extra approach added 30-40 min, very scenic. There's no parking above the falls. Took some mining roads and made UN13,145 (Jackass) by noon. Weather was iffy, but holding up, so I continued on to La Junta and Wasatch. Lots of waterfalls on the descent. Started drizzling around 4pm. Pretty, long hike. UN didn't have a register, 2 others did. |

9/16/2021 Route: Southwest Ridge from Wasatch Mountain Posted On: 9/17/2021, By: supranihilest Info: The northeast ridge of Wasatch Mountain is easy to a flat section where grass grows on the east side of the ridge. I scree skied down the grass to the unnamed lake, and then took a generous trail up La Junta. The trail is scree and dirt but makes the ascent up La Junta a breeze. |
