The 4Runner driver decided that driving through the water was unwise. |

11/9/2019 Route: West Slope Posted On: 11/9/2019, By: Flyingfish Info: Road into Hurricane basin is not passable by car after the creek crossing. Hiking the road the snow varies from none to about a foot below 12k. Snowshoes would not be helpful as the snow is not consolidated at all. Above 12k the road crosses the north slope of UN 13703 and the snow is very deep but is also crazy windslabbed so beware. The ridge up Gravel is dry outside of a few snow patches. There is a massive cornice above the road just off the summit of Seigal Mtn. Snow is variable anywhere from sugar to windslab to none. |
