11/10/2023 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 11/12/2023, By: sarahmariekirk Info: Climbed Peerless and a repeat of Horseshoe on 11/10. Conditions were a mixed bag of deep snow, tundra and a hard crust. Decided not to bring snowshoes, which are definitely not required yet but did opt for microspikes which stayed on for most of the day. Snow on all of the surrounding peaks, and a pretty large cornice forming on Peerless. Conditions for Horseshoe will be posted separate. |

6/23/2023 Route: From Horseshoe saddle Posted On: 6/26/2023, By: Makbrad Info: Just a few patches of snow along the ridgeline between Horseshoe and Peerless. Looks like the same between Peerless and Sheridan. The ridge will be completely dry soon. There are snow fields on the slopes below the ridge that will linger for a while (made for a great glissade). |

8/14/2022 Route: Iowa Gulch Posted On: 8/15/2022, By: kwhit24 Info: Started from Iowa Gulch and the whole route was straight forward and nothing more than Class 2. When returning from Peerless I just contoured above the grass under Sheridan to the Sherman saddle and returned to the car via the West slopes route. One comment about this descent is that it turns into slick gravel in more than a few spots so it can be tricky if you're trying to move quickly. Met one person on Dyer, 2 going up Sheridan, 3 going to Peerless, and about 50+ on the Sherman route ha (11.39 mi; 4,301' gain; 6:32:47 total time) Start at TH 5:50am; Dyer Mtn 7:00am; Gemini Peak 7:45am; White Ridge 8:50am; Mt. Sherman 9:40am; Mt. Sheridan 10:45am; Peerless Mtn 11:20am; Back to TH 12:25pm |

6/11/2022 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 6/12/2022, By: mnk219 Info: Pretty clear! Submitted Sherman and traversed across to Weston (Sherman - Sheridan - Peerless - Horseshoe - Ptarmigan - Weston) and back down to the Fourmile trailhead on the path north of Horseshoe. There was a short patch of snow on the climb up to the saddle between Sherman and Sheridan, but no traction was needed. Otherwise snowfields were avoidable on this stretch. |

11/13/2021 Route: Sheridan / Peerless Saddle Posted On: 11/14/2021, By: CheapCigarMan Info: Hiked Peerless from Sheridan. Still pretty dry above treeline. No flotation needed. No traction needed. Highest winds I've ever encountered. |

9/20/2020 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 9/21/2020, By: Sglm14 Info: Love this peak. Quick and painless summit from Horseshoe. No snow along the trail. |

8/2/2020 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 8/2/2020, By: tcphoto87 Info: Probably the easiest "mountain" I've ever hiked lol. From the saddle with Horseshoe it probably took 5 minutes to walk up it. Super easy, there was some snow on the east side but nothing along the trail. |

6/5/2020 Route: East Ridge from Horseshoe Saddle Posted On: 6/5/2020, By: E_A_Marcus_949 Info: Posted more info in condition report for Horseshoe - some snow on road hike getting up to the saddle with Horseshoe but can be easily avoided or crossed with care in the morning or some postholing later when the sun has hit it. Peerless holds snow on the face but it's a quick trip up from the saddle and all snow can (and probably should) be avoided. |

5/23/2020 Route: Sheridan Posted On: 5/23/2020, By: angry Info: From Sheridan, dry to summit. Cornice at top which is avoidable. Dropped to about 13,200 to cut across tundra on descent and glissade the snow slope that dumps you to the right of the mine ruins to rejoin the road. |

7/26/2019 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 7/26/2019, By: dwoodward13 Info: One patch of snow on the mining roads as well as a patch to reach the ridge. No equipment required. |

7/14/2019 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 7/15/2019, By: Chelsea Info: The standard route is mostly snow-free. I'm a giant baby when it comes to snowy slopes, and I really didn't have much trouble traversing what little snow is left. Any snow lower on the route can either be avoided by just walking around it on the rock/tundra, or following a different route through the maze of mine roads. We chose to go around most of the snow, but it would have been perfectly safe to walk through it. There is only one snow field remaining that you can't avoid, on the final climb up to the Horseshoe/Peerless saddle. We ascended at the narrowest point which had a boot track in it already. I wasn't uncomfortable at all, no spikes or poles/ax needed. Once you get up on the ridge, there is no snow on the trail. |
