5/3/2025 Route: From Horseshoe Posted On: 5/3/2025, By: sarahmariekirk Info: Cornice still hanging on between Horseshoe and Finnback, but was easily avoidable by hanging far left. Good amount of snow still but melting fast in between the rocks, so it was a little tedious today. Two summits on Finnback, we went to both just to be safe! |

11/28/2020 Route: Peerless-Horeshoe-Finnack from Fourmile Posted On: 11/28/2020, By: daway8 Info: The steep rocky terrain from Horseshoe to Finnback is filled in just enough with snow to make it really bothersome - never know if any given step will find a stable rock, a deep pit or rocks that give way underneath your feet. NE side of ridge had some very small cornices starting to form but nothing that impeded progress other than needing to carefully pick each step. Snowshoes would get really beaten up on the exposed portions of the rocks and traction would gain you very little at this point. Took almost an hour to gingerly step over from Horseshoe to Finnback, and ~45min to go back up. Not the best time of year for doing this route except for some beautiful views. |

9/9/2018 Route: From Horseshoe Mountain Posted On: 9/9/2018, By: supranihilest Info: The scramble down Horseshoe Mountain is Class 2 but quite steep and loose. There are a couple of short sections of harder scrambling that are best gone around instead of climbed over, as they're very loose. The scramble up the Knob is also loose but not as steep. Don't forget that you will have to do several hundred feet of regain up Horseshoe Mountain on your way out, as sidehilling all the way back to the Horseshoe/Peerless saddle is not feasible. |

6/25/2016 Route: Traverse from White Ridge Posted On: 7/2/2016, By: beburke30 Info: Ridge line clear all the way from White Ridge. There were a few small patches on the South side of Sheridan, but you can't snake around them so it wasn't a problem. |

7/17/2015 Route: Traverse from Horseshoe Posted On: 7/17/2015, By: JasonKline Info: The White Ridge/Sherman/Sheridan/Peerless/Horseshoe/Finnback loop still has some snow along the route, but it can all be avoided easily. |
