Info: Summer conditions. Some snow patches remain on the ridge, but they're completely avoidable.

Road to 2WD Mosquito Pass TH is clear. There are two deep puddles in the road right in the middle of the 2WD TH that I opted not to bother with, but at this point they're shallow enough I saw several crossover SUVs and Subaru-type vehicles fording them without issue.

Info: An SUV made it to the Fremont pass S TH but I elected to leave my civic halfway up the dirt road below a shallow drift. Will probably melt soon. About 70% snow for first mile or so, then a mile with around 30% snow, then around 70 percent til the road joins the upper basin. Snow is shallow and sparse until around 12K. I couldn't get a complete look at the main couloir on the NE face, except to tell that it wasn't definitively out, so I was positively surprised that it was in to within 200 ft altitude of summit. Final bit to the ridge was stepping through rocks in crampons. Mostly sinking 3-6 inches on boot up. Dropped in at 1:40 from continuous snow 200 ft below summit. Mix of heavy, sticky powder and a slick crust layer. Side slipped through 3 different steep, narrow sections. Managed to stay on snow all the way to 11,3 on the road with a lot of billy goating through willows, stepping through dirt on skis, and staying on the north side of the basin.

Info: Road still holding snow past TH at Mosquito Gulch at 11.6k. If you pick your way carefully, you can avoid most of it. Or hike and return early before it softens. Snow ends at about 12k en route to the upper mine. Easily avoidable cornice on saddle between Mosquito and Tweto.

Info: Went Tweto to Kuss. The majority of the loop had some snow, but it wasn't usually bothersome. It was occasionally deep in wind drifted areas though. I wore spikes on the ridges, but you'd probably be ok without.

Info: Hit the well-detailed Tweto-Buckskin traverse and tacked on Tweto’s SE ridge to the start for a bit more scrambling, all summer conditions except a short snowy section on the flat bench before Tweto’s summit. Snow started falling around ~10a but wasn’t sticking and winds were whipping hard up on the ridges.

Tweto’s SE ridge was a fun add on with 3rd class lines lower down while ascending (including a nice gully through the bottom cliff band), leveling off to 2+ on the ridge itself. Tweto-Buckskin was as advertised fairly easy class 3, couple options to add spice near Buckskin if desired. Given the short approach and distance (~8 mi 2400 vert), this ridge makes a pretty good intro scramble.

Info: All snow is avoidable on route, but sticking to north facing slopes. Rocks were slippery in some spots with the day's rain/snow. Most of the hike was in a cloud. Carried spikes, didn't use them. Fall is here!

Info: A few sections of mud/running water on the road, largely inconsequential. Some lingering snowfields, but all easily avoidable. Some cairns to follow through the rock to avoid the worst of it, but that is not avoidable. Will post separate TH update for Mosquito Creek.

Info: Getting to the trailhead - there are 4 large puddles immediately before reaching the trailhead. I would not take a 2wd sedan through them.

Hiking up less than 1/2 mile from the trailhead there is a water creek crossing the road/trail. You can detour going uphill to the right and walk across snow over the creek. That held up early and late morning and did not posthole on that.

There is only one other snow field to cross to get to upper basin. I just used spikes for that.

I had wanted to do Arkansas but decided not to when I got a view of the route to the Arkanasas false summit. 

Route: Crack Couloir/ North face

Info: After getting down from moonshine, skinned over and climbed the Crack Couloir. There was a boot pack there already but some of it had been filled in. If skiing this line, there's a short section of rocks at the top that have to be walked, but would otherwise ski continuously. Decided to drop the north face line instead because I had a hunch the snow would be better (and it probably was). Also a very short section of walk over rocks below the summit, then some side slipping through more rocks, followed by a somewhat thin but generally very nice decent. Was nice to have a single track to follow to make sure we hit the exit.
Climbed back up the ridge after and hit another line that didn't go from the summit.

Route: Tweto-Treasurevault-Mosquito

Info: Arthurspiderman and I did the ridge traverse from Mosquito to Tweto, mostly on skis. Due to the downright terrible forecast, high winds, and worrisome snow we wanted to do something close that we would not mind bailing on. Luckily the winds were fairly tame in the morning and the snow conditions were better than expected.

We started at the winter trailhead for London Mill, followed the road up to Oliver Twist lake and then took a rocky rib up to the main ridge of Mosquito where we skinned to the top. We were able to ski down the ridge of Mosquito, boot pack up Treasurevault and start the ski towards Tweto. The ridges were remarkably well filled in.

The base of Tweto is when the winds really stated blowing, probably 50 mph gusts. We hit Tweto, descended the ridge into the basin and skied back to the road near London Mill. You can ski from about 10 feet from the top. This section of skiing was great, mellow and over some very interesting terrain. Once we were at the London mill we put our skins back on and toured out. We learned last year that pushing through this road is difficult and unpleasent. By this time the wind was really howling.

Overall a very fun, and relatively avy safe winter route. If you wanted to add Kuss or London it would not add too much to the trip and might make gaining the main ridge line a bit easier.

Info: Looped with London and Mosquito. No snow on route, a little damp in places on the road descent, but nothing notable. Coming off the summit I didn't go all the way back to the saddle, but traversed gradually down towards the basin below (but still somewhat towards the saddle) on the same semi-stable talus that the ascent from the Treasurevault saddle entails. Once off the talus, there's a nice grassy descent down to the road. The road is a little tedious to walk in the lower half due to the rocks, but it gets the job done. Saw a huge group of people with a couple dozen donkeys heading up the road not far below the remnants of the old mine site (just a roof a few odds and ends the best I could tell).

Info: Did the loop including London and Tweto. Both roads from the parking area are streams with lots of water. The deep puddle just below the parking spot is still there, and gets deeper during the day. There are some snowfields in spots, up past north London Mine. Ridge to London is mostly all dry and any snow is avoidable. More snow on Kuss, especially on the summit, but rather firm. East slopes of Mosquito still have a lot of coverage from summit, can probably get a 1000 foot vertical run. Most of the unavoidable snow is along the ridge from Treasurevault to Tweto, less while ascending Tweto. Postholed a bit there. I didn't use traction but found poles helpful. The stream in the road going up to the London mine had an iced over surface in the morning. Very windy day.

Info: Climbed Mount Tweto today along with Treasurevault Mountain (posted peaks conditions report separately) with Cash. Snow is melting super fast, and made for variable conditions today. We booted up to the first slopes where we put on snowshoes to gain the ridge to Tweto (crampons would have worked better due to the grade of the slope). We chose a pretty steep line in order to gain the ridge faster. Stashed the snowshoes higher on the ridge because everything up there is slushy, posthole hell. Beautiful summit views today, lots of moody clouds.
