6/10/2023 Route: SE Ridge from Gemini/Sherman Posted On: 6/10/2023, By: madmattd Info: Traversed over to and from Dyer from Gemini/Sherman. The ridge in the saddle is passable right now with a mix of bare rock and patchy snow. There are some minor wind ridges formed along the cliffy SW side, staying just NE of the ridge crest worked fine with spikes and ice axe (latter not strictly needed) and a little care. I don't think the snow in this spot will be an issue much longer. The steep slopes above the power lines are all well-filled in with snow, a direct ascent with spikes and the axe was fine with nice styrofoam snow before 9 on the way up, and only slightly softening shortly after 9 on the way back. I think they'll be around for a while yet. I glissaded a couple of the upper stretches down to the power lines, great fun. A set or two of day or two old ski tracks came up/returned from Iowa Gulch to the summit, snow coverage up high looked good, not sure what it was like down lower in the gulch though. |

8/21/2022 Route: West Ridge Posted On: 8/22/2022, By: CheapCigarMan Info: Leaving West Dyer and ascending Dyer the ridge starts right away with needed route finding. Started as fun scrambling then in the middle became pretty sketchy with loose rock in saturated dirt from all the moisture at times finding it difficult to maintain three points of contact. There are several different lines one could take. We were fortunate that it didn't start raining til we were off the difficulties. From there we went to Mt. Evans B. Returning to the same spot we continued up Dyer's ridge, now only Class 2 rock hopping the remainder of the ridge. From Dyer's summit (39 degree wind chill) we descended and headed over to Gemini. |

8/14/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 8/15/2022, By: kwhit24 Info: Started from Iowa Gulch and the whole route was straight forward and nothing more than Class 2. When returning from Peerless I just contoured above the grass under Sheridan to the Sherman saddle and returned to the car via the West slopes route. One comment about this descent is that it turns into slick gravel in more than a few spots so it can be tricky if you're trying to move quickly. Met one person on Dyer, 2 going up Sheridan, 3 going to Peerless, and about 50+ on the Sherman route ha (11.39 mi; 4,301' gain; 6:32:47 total time) Start at TH 5:50am; Dyer Mtn 7:00am; Gemini Peak 7:45am; White Ridge 8:50am; Mt. Sherman 9:40am; Mt. Sheridan 10:45am; Peerless Mtn 11:20am; Back to TH 12:25pm |

7/29/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 7/29/2022, By: Syde0004 Info: Steep as expected. Still one little patch of snow. Great conditions overall. Was the only one on the trail that I could see and had the summit to myself |

6/12/2022 Route: North Ridge Posted On: 6/12/2022, By: hokiehead Info: Route mostly dry, a few drifts covering the road stopped us at 12,150'. Took Microspikes for traction, never used. I'd call it Class 3 (Roach gives it 2+), if the definition is "arms required for forward progress" and I wish I had brought my helmet (didn't need it, but head bonking was a risk). Great route though. |

5/18/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 5/19/2022, By: PikaSteve Info: Snow is mostly avoidable from end of road to summit. The road is easily passable to within a half mile of the summer parking area. From the summer road closure, you can head up and slightly right on south facing, dry slopes to join up with the 14ers.com map's blue line between 13,000 and 13,200 feet. From here, the least snowy route generally follows the blue line to reach the south ridge and included about 100 steps up low angle snow. Once reaching the south ridge, all snow was avoidable while staying at Class 2. |

3/19/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 3/19/2022, By: Geckser Info: Beautiful morning up there. I skied bottom to top back to bottom in about 2 hours 45 minutes round trip. The winds were low and the snow generally seemed pretty safe. One of the days that remind me why I do what I do. Glad to get my 13th winter Centennial summit of the 2022 winter, what a great winter. A very fun route to ski and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking to get a summit in on the last day of winter, tomorrow. I broke a trench up but it likely got filled in during the day. Always a joy to get a continuous summit ski on a winter peak. |

3/14/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 3/14/2022, By: halfapackofapache Info: Parked at the winter closure. Road is packed down really well tell about 11.9k or roughly where you would park in the summer. Snow was knee to waist deep after that. I took a more direct route up the south face where I could rock hop to avoid exhausting myself in the deep snow. Snowboarded from summit to car. Coverage was good except for a couple hundred feet from about 13.5 to 13.2 where I had to dodge rocks. Sunny all day. Started at 11.30, summited at 3:30 back to car at 4:30. Snow was REALLY slow. I straight lined more than I would have liked to keep speed through the deep snow. |

3/5/2022 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 3/7/2022, By: aksean22 Info: From the Iowa Gulch winter closure. The first few miles are packed down by snow machines and went quickly. A little trail breaking is required past the summer TH. I more or less followed the summer route the rest of the way and had continuous snow all the way to the summit. I clocked about 10 miles and 3k RT - most of which was spent in a complete whiteout. |

8/4/2021 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 8/4/2021, By: mtngoatwithstyle Info: Summer conditions all the way to the summit. Monsoon rain has affected the road you take to get to the ridge, it is pretty washed out. Small waterfalls coming down the backside of Sherman also not present last time I was there. Lovely and sunny day!. |

7/2/2021 Route: Traversed From Sherman Posted On: 7/2/2021, By: Jack_H Info: Few small snowfields that are easily avoidable. Other than that, summer conditions. |

6/25/2021 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 6/25/2021, By: Harrison1991 Info: Traversed from Sherman, descended the south east slopes. There are a few snowfields, on the eastern side of the peak, and one large snowfield, when descending from Gemini. |

6/10/2021 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 6/10/2021, By: ScottLovesRMNP Info: 99% summer conditions if you climb up left away from the stream, gully, and mine ruins. Dry on the south ridge. By choice used the snow for quick glissading back down. |

6/9/2021 Route: Southeast Slopes Posted On: 6/9/2021, By: TBro221 Info: I went straight up the loose talus/scree straight up from the Iowa Gulch Parking lot, mainly because I saw what must of been an old mining road switchbacking. Slipped and made my way up to nearly the ridge no snow. From there only a few snow crossings. Most of the SE slopes is covered in snowfields. I came down these slopes and was able to stand up glissade/run most of it, but at a certain elevation, was post hole madness. Recommend if you're sticking to the true route, micros and maybe some flotation if you are later in the day |
