9/6/2022 Route: North ridge direct from C Prime Posted On: 9/8/2022, By: SnowAlien Info: There is some confusion about whether the direct ridgeline goes, but as jbchalk report clearly demonstrates, it does. I took the direct line since I didn't want to lose even 50 feet descending to the next gully to the right/west as my partner did. He found polished and slick rock near the top of his route, so he downclimbed and traversed even further west, ending about 300 feet below the summit. The direct north ridge goes quicker and without any elevation loss, and I was able to skirt around the pinnacle just to the west, traverse into the west gully about 150 feet directly below the summit. The initial ridge is no harder than Class 4, the next section may have some low 5 class moves for a move or 2. I stayed kinda focused so I didn't take any pertinent route photos. |
