8/4/2024 Route: from willowbrook th Posted On: 8/4/2024, By: Laxer04 Info: We went up Rain from the Willowbrook TH. The reported deadfall on the trail from past condition reports has been cleaned up. The trail is in really great shape. We traversed over to Silverthorne. The ridge is short but fun. Plenty of route finding and options to make the traverse more difficult. We then looped over to East Thorne and down into Willow Lakes. The summit register on East Thorne is in great shape. Really fun loop, highly recommend if you like some route finding and class 3/4 scrambling. |

6/29/2024 Route: Willowbrook TH Posted On: 7/1/2024, By: B_2 Info: Trail is nice until the Gore wilderness sign, as it has been maintained by Summit county, then there's a deadfall mess for a few miles. But when you leave the trail and head up the shoulder the forest is nice again so don't get too worried about the deadfall. All snow is avoidable. If you haven't been to this TH before, it's got about 10-12 spots and you're not allowed to park on the street, so arrive early. Of other importance: it is bugs-o'clock here right now including all your favorites - black flies, deer flies, mosquitoes - bring bug juice or die! |
