10/21/2023 Route: Northeast Cirque & Upper East Ridge Posted On: 10/21/2023, By: Laxer04 Info: We took Kramarsic's NE Cirque / Upper East Ridge route. There is snow on the route but it is easily avoidable. Class 2. The summit views are incredible. I would not recommend this route. The bushwhack past the lake is absolutely brutal - so many downed trees. My legs are all cut up. We were hopeful to get Peak N as well and loop back down to the lake but the rough conditions past the lake slowed us down and we ran out of time (had to get back to Denver for an event). Also, the road to the Brush Creek TH is in really bad shape in spots. Make sure you have good 4WD with clearance. My Strava came in at 12.89 miles 4,930ft of vertical gain. I've attached a few photos from the summit to give you an idea of how the Gores are looking right now. |

9/19/2022 Route: traverse from L Posted On: 9/22/2022, By: SnowAlien Info: Peak doesn't look like much from the south, but it is a very imposing looking peak from the north. We found a good way to descend, as the north side cliffs out - went down the SW gully (away from pk N) for a ~100 ft or so, then got up and over West rib with an easy traverse to the top of the notch/north facing rubble gully. Descended rubble gully another 100 ft and traversed left to the north shoulder/ridge. Trying to stay high on the ridge traverse to N was a mistake, it makes sense to skirt the difficulties on the west (left) side. |
