5/28/2016 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 5/30/2016, By: jasayrevt Info: Good, prime conditions for this route and reaching the top of the peak. Variable, definitely still a lot of snow around. There are many high-quality mountaineering lines that are in. Easy from Loveland Pass, gain ridge and coast on over. Make a trip up and enjoy the great outdoors / summit. Pictures included for beta |

11/25/2015 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 11/25/2015, By: CreekRunner Info: The route up to Point 12,915 is basically free of snow, just a few icy spots. The remainder of the trek has snow but can easily be avoided. |

7/1/2015 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 7/2/2015, By: wazoheat Info: Trail is in very good shape. Only 3 snow patches, one had some minor postholing but it was easily avoidable by walking on the rocks just to the left of the trail. Microspikes not necessary. |

6/21/2015 Route: From Loveland Pass/Standard Posted On: 6/24/2015, By: shaw64 Info: Hiked Mt. Sniktau on Sunday, June 21 and conditions were spectacular. Windy ridge as expected and some snowy spots but no microspikes or other traction devices needed if staying on trail. Parking is filling up quickly (full by 8:45) because of skiers/boarders on the continental divide side of loveland pass and hikers heading to Sniktau/Grizzly/Cupid so be sure to get there early or walk up a bit from secondary lot(s). All in all, a nice short hike to summit Sniktau and, I assume, Grizzly Peak, although there may be more snow on that south/westerly side of the ridge after you hit the trail split and turn left to Sniktau and right to Grizzly and/or Cupid, I believe. |

6/20/2015 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 6/21/2015, By: sheller Info: Conditions on Sniktau and Grizzly are good. Brought micros, but didn‘t need to use them. When going down from Cupid to Grizzly there were a couple of steep snow sections, but you can bypass them by climbing over the class 3 boulders- not a big deal. |

4/4/2015 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 4/5/2015, By: mlayman09 Info: Great time to get out and stretch your legs above treeline! Encountered minimal snow, but there are, of course, many large cornices along the eastern sides of the ridges. Climbed it in the full moon last evening, here‘s a few of the best pics I was able to muster without using a tripod and in brutal wind. |

12/12/2014 Route: Southwest Ridge Posted On: 12/12/2014, By: BagginPeaks Info: Packed like I was ready for some winter snow climbing.. Should have packed like it was summer instead. Hardly any snow from the top of 6 to the summit, what little there is can be avoided. |

4/29/2013 Route: Standard from Loveland Pass Posted On: 4/29/2013, By: onepeakatatime Info: Mt. Sniktau seems to always be relatively clear. Perhaps the good Lord wants to give us summer hikers at least one mountain to practice on. As you can tell from the pictures, the trail up to PT 12915 was about 50% dirt and rocks, with the rest in drifts 4 to 9 inches deep (mostly hard packed or ice. The wind was running between about 30 to 45 mph, which finally convinced me to turn around for the sunny and 80‘s in Denver. This was my third hike up towards or to PT 12915 in the past 6 weeks and it has been about the same conditions each time. |

4/13/2013 Route: Loveland Pass Posted On: 4/13/2013, By: Brian Thomas Info: Went halfway up Sniktau today after skiing A-Basin and turned around because of the wind. I turned around at the point at upper right of pic 1 where the route turns left toward the summit. Brought microspikes but did not need them. Pic 2 is the west side of Torreys. |

12/21/2012 Route: Loveland Pass Posted On: 12/21/2012, By: Floyd Info: Hiked up Sniktau and Cupid from Loveland Pass this morning before work. Relatively dry. I was ready for winter, but could be hiked in trail runners (if you don‘t mind some frozen toes), there are a few patches of snow but all is blown hard and packed down. Nice easy hike, slogged away and was back in the car in under 3 hours. |
