1/11/2020 Route: North and South Slopes Posted On: 1/11/2020, By: supranihilest Info: The north slopes consist of stable boulders and snow. It's an easy route. The south side has much more snow and this snow is packed into rock hard, smooth slabs. It was difficult to kick steps into and was easy to fall on. It would probably be hard to arrest on snow that hard. Sticking to pure rock on the south side is a better idea, though spikes may help. |

1/1/2020 Route: West Slopes Posted On: 1/2/2020, By: dolfh Info: The road seems to be in good shape all the way to the road closure 1/2 mile past the Mennonite Camp. However, I did see a sports car upside down in the creek as I was driving home. There is a large parking lot at the road closure. Ultra-packed trail to tree line. Above tree line there is a poorly developed trench that climbs straight up the slope for a couple hundred yards then disappears. Mixture of grass and powder continues until near Point 13,070. The way on over to 13,363 is mostly clear because of the consistently strong winds. |
