6/15/2024 Route: Echo Lake Posted On: 6/15/2024, By: dwoodward13 Info: Incredibly nice loop from Echo Lake. A great way to "earn" these peaks vs just getting them from Summit Lake. From Echo Lake, took the Chicago Lakes trail to Summit Lake. 2 minor snow patches near upper Chicago Lake but pretty inconsequential, no traction needed. No snow anywhere else on route. From Summit Lake, took the SW ridge up to Warren. Continued running the ridge over to Rodgers. Continued onwards on the ridge, bypassing a couple outcroppings on the left to reach the upper ending of the Goliath Trail. Took that down to the Goliath visitors center. Walked the road about a half mile to the hairpin turn. Dropped off into the forest aiming for the Resthouse Meadows trail. Bushwacking in here was not bad at all, mostly open forest with plenty of game trails. Highly recommend this over walking the road the whole way back. Took Resthouse back to Echo Lake. Logged ~13 miles, ~4k vert |

3/23/2024 Route: Blue Sky Road to Northeast Slopes Posted On: 3/24/2024, By: cloudkicker Info: Floatation required. We wore snowshoes almost the whole way. We found good trench for about 1.5 miles from the winter lot, at which point everyone in recent days had seemed to turn around. We had to do all the trail breaking ourselves from that point on all the way to the summit of Rogers. It was deep soft snow, even along the upper road, in which we sank in with our snowshoes roughly 70 percent of the time. Wind and blowing snow was awful and relentless for most of our ascent but calmed down somewhat by our descent. It took us so long to do Rogers in our snowshoes that we had to punt Warren for another time. While we were above 13k we noticed the storm system quickly approaching which gave us some urgency to retreat. On ascent and descent we took a shortcut off the lower road and to the upper road, cutting off the area nearby the Goliath Nature Center, so to avoid the avalanche terrain on Goliaths northeast flanks. See the attached topo map which shows our shortcut. It worked out pretty well and saved us nearly a mile each way and I believe avoided all the avalanche terrain completely. We saw nobody the whole day but on our descent spotted a fresh set of tracks heading up the north ridge on Goliath. They also apparently took our shortcut both ways which helped reinforce our trench. All that said, I would be surprised if there will be any trench left above treeline after this new storm. In a matter of hours the blowing snow already filled in much of our trench along the upper road and on the slopes above the Goliath-Rogers saddle. |

7/3/2023 Route: Combo with Mount Warren Posted On: 7/3/2023, By: sarahmariekirk Info: Rogers Peak is nearly full summer conditions, very minimal snow patches that are entirely avoidable. Fun little boulder hopping to the summit, and unexpected summit block to climb up on and officially tag the summit! Gorgeous views of Spalding - Evans and perfect conditions today. Feels good to be back in trail runners! |

2/25/2023 Route: My own Posted On: 2/25/2023, By: Svobatron Info: From Echo Lake: The road up to Evans is a mix of bare asphalt, deep drifts and some good packed snowshoe and ski tracks. Snow shoes probably aren't necessary but you will get slowed down here and there without them. Today I abandoned the road at treeline and hiked the ridge to Rogers summit. Conditions were just awful. Wind gusts up to 8o mph. Got knocked on my ass multiple times. The ridge is bouldery and rocky, and with the wind, it was slow moving. Do yourself a favor and just use the road 6 miles up until a gentle slope on your right takes you to Rogers. I wish I did that. Brutal day. 0 out of 10, would not recommend :)) |

7/13/2022 Route: from Mount Warren Posted On: 7/13/2022, By: mtngoatwithstyle Info: Summer conditions. From Warren I went down to the saddle and then went left before the ridge up to Rogers Pk where I found goat trails that took me all the way almost to summit. Met another hiker, but the whole day it was just pikas, bighorn sheep, marmots, ravens and myself. |

1/22/2022 Route: From echo lake th Posted On: 1/22/2022, By: SionaRW35 Info: Broke trail through the trees cutting two switchbacks on the road. Snowshoes needed below tree line. Above tree line Microspikes very helpful. Watch out for occasional trap door snow, both me and my partner got shin bruises from trap doors. Plenty of wind and blowing snow above 12k |

12/28/2021 Route: North Slopes Posted On: 12/28/2021, By: dolfh Info: Hwy 103 to Echo Lake was icy and snowpacked in the morning but 50 % dry by the afternoon. I hiked up the Mt Evans road to the base of Rogers Pk. The Mt Evans road is mostly covered in snow, 3-6 in deep. Gale force winds out of the west on the slopes of Rogers Pk. Mountain Forecast predicted 25-30mph in the Rogers Pk area at 13000 ft, but the actual winds were much stronger. |

7/3/2021 Route: Echo-Chicago-Evans loop Posted On: 7/3/2021, By: daway8 Info: Made an extended loop of this to serve as a conditioning hike and pick up a couple new 13ers - started at Echo Lake, dropped down into the valley then up past Chicago Lakes (following Evans West Ridge from Echo Lake route) but at Summit Lake doubled back to go over Warren then Rogers then followed the ridge down to connect with the trail running alongside Goliath. Then hiked alongside the road to get back to Echo Lake. The valley was pretty muddy. Only one extremely trivial snowfield on the route just before the final rise to Summit Lake. Otherwise summer conditions. Hardly anyone at Echo Lake at 2:30am but packed to the max at 11am. Summit Lake parking was already crowded at 5:30am - they apparently don't block the road overnight despite the reservation system. Not another soul on Warren/Rogers but I could see the normal army of ants over on Evans. Beautiful weather in the am but storms clouds were building by the time I left. |

6/19/2021 Route: Summit Lake Posted On: 6/19/2021, By: denvermikey Info: Summer conditions. Would have to go out of your way to step in snow. Although no trail, straightforward hike over Warren/Rogers from Summit Lake. Easy peasy. |

6/10/2021 Route: From summit lake Posted On: 6/10/2021, By: -wren- Info: Climbed Warren, Rogers, “Epaulie”, and Epaulet Mtn (unranked) today. Nothing required flotation and I did it all without traction although it won't hurt to bring. Poles came in handy on a couple occasions. Was going to take a trip up to Spalding and Gray Wolf as well but wasn't feeling it today, a couple I talked to turned around on the former because Spalding's east ridge requires traction at the moment. |

6/7/2020 Route: Northeast Ridge form Road Posted On: 6/7/2020, By: goldenite Info: Rogers and Warren from the gate closure. No snow on route and pretty straight-forward. Took the road, cutting the switchback, until I started heading towards Rogers at the saddle, marked 12,152 on the USA Topo map. It was 12.5 miles RT, so a nice "honest" way to get these 13ers. Lots of bikers and the Echo lake TH, gate closure, and road between were filled with cars looking down around noon. About half of the closure lot was full when I arrived at 6:30. Also, attached is the north side of Evans if you're planning that. |

6/4/2020 Route: Chicago Lakes Posted On: 6/4/2020, By: MC.Ikema Info: No traction carried and wouldn't have used if carried. Ascended via Chicago Lakes and descended via the rige/road back to Echo Lake. |

12/22/2019 Route: From Echo Lake Posted On: 12/23/2019, By: amandaefaith Info: Road from Echo Lake was boot packed and/or still showing a decent amount of pavement. Used snowshoes to cut through the trees to avoid one of the turns of the road saving some distance. Nice sugary snow! Once above treeline, everything was pretty bare. |

10/5/2019 Route: From Summit Lake Posted On: 10/5/2019, By: HikesInGeologicTime Info: Started shortly after noon because a) you can do that at this time of year! and b) because the National Weather Service said winds were supposed to die down in the afternoon. Hahahahahaaaa. I weigh 160 lbs. (probably 170-175, total, factoring in the weight of my pack and fully loaded ski jacket) and had to dig my heels in hard a few times to avoid getting blown over near Rogers' summit. Descended to the road in order to avoid getting gusted off the otherwise forgiving ridge entirely. Glad I did that, though bear in mind that if you do this after having started at or near Summit Lake, you'll be going back *up*hill on the road. It's an easy grade, but I completely understand the sentiments of those morally opposed to going back uphill in order to get back to their cars! All told, though, Warren and Rogers are great for a quick and easy alpine summit experience...as long as you do them tomorrow. Once the Mount Evans road closes on Monday, they'll be way more of a slog. |
