Route: Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, Bross

Info: If you left an ice axe on Democrat message me. Conditions: Parked at a building about 1.5 miles from summer TH. Only needed snowshoes from summer TH to Democrat saddle, or about half way to saddle. Axe and spikes were needed for some snow crossings.

Info: Fairly snowy on Democrat from Kite Lake to the summit - trail is almost entirely snow-covered, depths range from an inch or two to knee deep on the final ascent to the summit from the false summit (good boot track in place right now). Generally 3-4" depth I'd guess. I did almost the entire CW loop in bare boots today, just used spikes a bit coming off Bross.

Info: I drove my Crosstrek all the way to the trailhead. The road is fine if you avoid the deeper ruts and don't drive like an idiot in a sedan. Did Democrat, Cameron, and Lincoln on 10/12/24 with my dog. It was windy, but only a small section of snow on the north side of the trail near the summit on Lincoln. Rest of the trail was totally clear.

Info: Beautiful day, no wind. Loose rock in small section before the false summit but if your patient to test rocks for stability, hike is great accomplishment to check off. Great views as one would expect. A lot of energy used so Im going back to do the other 3 as rain forecast was 50/50 after 12:00. Many that were there say its better to go up Bross and loop back because Bross has very loose rock going down. Left 4X4 TH at 5. Sumitted at 8:30

Info: All summer conditions with a couple short, packed snow sections (will be melted soon). Heavy rainfall and light hail began as we descended Bross around sunset but had mostly okay weather prior to that. Took us 5.5 hours to complete the loop.

Info: Clear on most part as posted before. No need for microspikes. Snow melting so have to cross some water crossing by the parking lot. Snowfield at the democrat route before and after the saddle. hikers werent able to find the route after taking a left on the saddle (snow covered photo 8 on 14ers) we saw everyone going straight up and down and took that route. See photos

Info: Some easy snow fields to cross low down and and a three short traverses just before the ridge. The main route up the mountain is dry. Good conditions with no need for micro-spikes or snowshoes.

Info: Super windy and cloudy, and cold enough that our gear was icing up above 13k. Saw several groups call it before the Bross bypass because of wind and ice. Democrat is definitely still holding the most snow of the 4 in the loop. We went up Bross and that seemed like the better choice today. There are still a few fun glissades down Democrat where a lot of the trail in those spots is still buried.

Info: trail head starts 1 mile short of Kite Lake. Plowed road. patches of glaciated and rock to the top. Windy.

Route: South Slope
Posted On: 6/5/2024, By: HikesInGeologicTime
Info: Took an assessment drive up to the current road closure to see if Dem would be good for a ski tomorrow. South Chutes are still holding snow (and appeared to be the only part of the mountain holding continuous amounts), but slide activity was evident even from a mile below Kite Lake. Between that and the latest warning from CAIC about conditions over the next couple days, that is gonna be a no from me, dawg.

Info: The gully shown in the route description was pretty wind-loaded (hard to see with lighting, upper right quadrant of picture). We played it safe and skied something else.

Route: West Face
Posted On: 5/17/2024, By: vertical_volume
Info: Climbed and skied the West Face of Democrat from the Fremont Pass S trailhead. Very good freeze overnight and clear skies/sunny/hot all morning. Left the car at 9 am, summited at 12:05 pm, and dropped at 1:06 pm. There's a lot of avy debris in the bottom half but it wasn't a major issue. The top 1600 feet could've used at least another 30 mins of sun but aside from navigating some avalanche debris it was a fantastic ski top to bottom.

Info: Bross S Gully, Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat South Slope - skin and ski Few parking spots at the fee area sign around 1 mile down from the Kite Lake, road plowed up till there, then all snow covered. Everything still full of snow. Skipped the very peak of Bross due to private property and continued across the ridge. Few rocky patches across the ridge but I could just step over them with skis on. South slope of Democrat skied very nice and corny all the way down around 1130am. Saw some roller balls along the way down (from previous days) but nothing big.

Info: Lines are filled in, but thin up top. Choke on the main line looked thin as well. Some wind slab on the westerly facing aspects. Skied the NW face, and found an array of pow, small wind slab, and firm. Followed a boot up the lookers left gulley.
