No snow gear is currently needed. However, an axe is recommended, if only to use on remaining patches of snow that are more pleasant to travel than the endless loose scree and talus on the rest of the route. The southern slopes of Mt Wilson and El Diente look mostly snow-free. We saw some individuals doing the traverse, and they seemed to have no added difficulties due to snow. A TR is forthcoming... |
