Condition Update

Snow was great in the morning, but in the afternoon you'll posthole below treeline! Bring snowshoes and good gaiters. The final approach on the ridge has patches of snow and rock, but crampons or microspikes are not necessary. Check out the attached picture.

Couldn't add a new condition update for some reason...

Did the East Ridge on 5/23, stay on the climbers left of the ridge and most of the snow is avoidable until tree line. In the morning the snow was hard enough to walk on, and in the afternoon we postholed a little bit but it wasn't horrible. Snowshoes aren't absolutely necessary but could help a bit. Gaiters are a must! Microspikes optional, we didn't use them on the way up but put them on just to be safe on the way down.

The Bridge across the creek is being rebuilt, it was difficult to cross without getting wet because the creek has swelled with the run off. There are some rocks you can jump across on to the left, and a small log you can cross on the right. Be careful crossing the log, it is slippery in the morning. (Spent the whole day with a wet shoe, thankfully I had a few pairs of extra socks)
