Mt Elbert East Ridge.
Road to 4WD TH was bare and in decent shape, no issues getting there in AWD wagon, one minor stream crossing but only a few inches deep.
First short section of trail is a bit muddy with a few patches of snow, then extended dry until deeper in trees. Once on snow the packed route follows the trail for a while then just goes straight up. It's a little confusing with different tracks but short. I tired to stick to the proper route and gave up due to deep snow, then just followed the other tracks. Packed trail goes up the old route but rejoins eventually. Some areas a little soft even in morning, I put on snowshoes at 11,600. You could probably get away without flotation most of the way up in the morning but I left them on the rest of the way and found it at least a little helpful. Rest of route is mostly snow covered but some patches of rocks and grass are exposed. Snow softened quickly after noon and I was glad to have snowshoes then. Around treeline it's pretty rough when soft, on the way down I was frequently sinking past my knees which slows you down a bit!
Overall great day, perfect bluebird skies and saw 8 people total.
