STOP! Creating a route description requires work, and you should only proceed if you have climbed the route.
If you haven't already, we urge you to read through other routes on 14ers.com to get an idea of the information required.
In addition to writing the route description text, you will need to include route images, map(s) and a GPX file you acquired from your climb. Are you sure you want to continue?
"East Crestone" - Crestone Peak's East Summit
In recent years, aerial LiDAR measurements calculated both Crestone Peak and "East Crestone" summits to be 14,299'. In 2025, Differential GPS (DGPS) was used and determined that "East Crestone" was 3 inches (yes, inches) higher. These peaks will likely be re-measured in the future with even more sophisticated equipment and larger device antennas, but at this point, it appears "East Crestone" is slightly higher than the main, named peak. So, don't forget to climb it when you go up for Crestone Peak.
