Road to Mount Blue Sky

Post by AylaDog-1079 »

Is the road from Idaho Springs to the Mount Blue Sky trailhead closed? We are planning a trip at the end of June. Thanks

You can get from Idaho Springs to Echo Lake, that's where the road is closed as noted at the link. They are repairing some road damage at Summit Lake.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like we need to do a different one this year. Blue Sky next year!

Blue Sky itself isn't closed. There are routes from Echo Lake and Guanella Pass (via Bierstadt/Sawtooth and otherwise) that can be used, but they are longer/harder/more involved than from Summit Lake.
