Denver Intro to 14ering Classes

Post by MaryinColorado »

Free Classes in Denver
Learn How to Climb a 14er | April 29th & May 13th

The Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) is excited to once again partner with the Denver Flagship REI to offer intro 14er education! Though the class is geared toward those who are new to or wanting to get into hiking 14ers, all experience levels are welcome.

Your instructor is Steve O'Clair, pictured below. Not only has he been an avid 14er climber for 12 years and done all 14ers at least once, but he's also a dedicated CFI volunteer Peak Steward. (Pssttt... he was CFI's 2024 Peak Steward of the Year!) He'll teach you the essentials of preparation and safety but also some really cool stuff about the alpine and how to be a responsible guest there.

Thank you for this info. We hope to move to FC next year and will definitely take advantage of this before heading out to the trails.

Awesome! That's good to hear. This is the second year we've done these classes, so I'm hopeful we'll be able to continue! :)

If you have any interest in getting a jumpstart on your knowledge, there's also a webinar next Thursday. Here's a link to the thread with that information if you're interested.

Cheers!
