Curious about this myself; I am headed over there July 4th. I will post a conditions report after my trip.

I can offer a historical persepctive: last year I did the Trinities Traverse + Vestal, starting and ending at Molas Pass, on the July 4 weekend and the only snow I encountered was about 10 steps across the gully separating Trinity Peak from East Trinity. It was south-facing but still hard. I think I used a short ice for stability but didn't put crampons or microspikes on my feet. Vestal Basin and the peaks were all dry. Last year had more snow than this year across all of Colorado. Shoe crampons and a short ice axe could be brought, but you definitely won't need snowshoes at this point.

Thanks for the pic, I’m heading there tomorrow. More snow than I had expected. I might need some microspikes. 🤔
