"Castleabra" couloirs

Post by CheapCigarMan »

Roach's Cunning and Boggy's Sloman.

Attached is the pic from Boggy's TR. Is the route I have made in red, the Sloman route? Please correct.
Cunning must be hidden behind and to the left?

Does anyone have a picture of the Cunning Couloir with route for comparison?

Sloman is said to be 1,200' and Roach says Cunning is about 380'.

Boggy says Sloman gets 45˚. Roach says generally Steep (45˚ - 60˚). Are they same steepness or does Cunning get steeper than 45˚?

Curious if Cunning is deeper inset in the rock than what Sloman looks to be?

It's a long way back to Mt Raoul. Sloman is marked in this TR. https://wildsnow.com/1857/mount-raoul-rowll-rowl-wille/

Skied Slowman couloir last spring. I think it's max steepness is around 45 degrees. Very long and arduous approach via Conundrum creek, so I recommend nabbing a few other peaks in the vicinity.

Enough time has passed that I forgot the amount of effort it took, so I'm thinking of a return trip this April - for Keefe and Hilliard, etc.
