Are there tent site locations along Capitol creek road?

Post by Dan_Swanson »

Does anyone know if there are many dispersed tent site locations on Forest Service land along the Capitol creek road? I want to tent camp close to the Capitol creek TH so I can get an early start on Capitol peak the following day. I did read there were a couple of sites right at the TH too. If there aren’t any along this road, where would you recommend me going in the vicinity? Thanks for any information you can provide!

Camping at the trailhead is easy and there are about 6 or 8 "premium sites". I was there on a Tuesday earlier this year, arrived after 8:00p.m. and had my pick of them all. I have been there on a weekend and the pickings get thin.
