Sweet potatoes are paleo, just have to realize that they are a higher carb veggie like beets. Regular potatoes are a very high glycemic food, and spike the blood sugar, which is something both paleo and keto are trying to avoid.

Just a quick note for anyone thinking about hiking in a low-carb state. I did fine for energy but I ran low on electrolytes, which is especially important if your body is in ketoacidosis. So yeah, in addition to water and snacks make sure you have a way to ingest some good old fashioned potassium. But too much can also be dangerous as well.

Propel, PowerAde Zero, or Nuun tablets are all possibilities.

Also definitely not paleo, but very low in carbs ... just need to omit the wrap that it's theoretically supposed to be served in.

I believe Propel (R) and PowerAde Zero (R) and some (but not all?) Nuun (R) products contain artificial flavoring.

Instead:
Avocados (mentioned, but not on the list earlier)
Salmon (mentioned)
Mushrooms (not mentioned)

...are all good/great natural sources of potassium that are low in carbohydrates. (And sweet potatoes, already mentioned, depending on if one is focused on carbohydrates or glycemic index).

In general (although not high in potassium), I'd also add "eggs" to a list of low-carb foods, either hard-boiled (depending on your risk-tolerance at room temperature) or frozen (e.g. in a burrito, with wrap-of-choice) for later consumption.

That stuff is awesome! In fact, I've had it before. If you add 1TBSP of butter to it, it tastes like shredded buffalo wings.

Unfortunately they no longer make it.
I tried to find some on Ebay, but I couldn't find any. Curses!

(also they make some low-carb tortillas that are excellent)

Why do you continue to post in this thread with sarcastic, trolling posts? Have nothing better to do? Love attention so much that you have to try and ruffle feathers?
