Kenosha was certainly a slowdown on the drive home yesterday. Not sure why there were hundreds of cars there, all the trees looked like the ones above the Escalade in this picture.

Kebler was looking good, even with a some greens left. Still, there were a lot of bare trees on Sunday morning that weren't that way Saturday. Some pockets were great, but dull year overall, unfortunately.

A different kind of color. This is on the drive out from Silver Jack Reservoir. The west side of Owl Creek Pass looks like it will be good to the weekend, what I could see of it at least(fog). The east side, where I took this (although lower down), is more spotty, with quite a few bare stands of aspens. The drive out though was amazingly colorful.

Sometimes a mostly cloudy forecast produces great light when the sun actually break through. Taken yesterday morning (10/2) in the San Juans:

One of the best captures I've seen of Turret Ridge and Dunsinane (of course Precipice too, but I'm partial to the others).

Most of Kebler Pass is prime time right now, or just a little past. The west side is a little behind, more green, should be good this weekend. Ohio Pass is just about perfect right now. Two pictures from the west side of Kebler, taken yesterday (10/3), and a rare case where the photos probably look a little better than the actual scene (polarizers can do wonders).

(Oh yeah, a warning. Avoid Glenwood Springs like the plague if possible. At least if coming down 82 from the Aspen/Carbondale direction. I hit the south end of Glenwood Springs around 6:45 PM last night, got to the I-70 entrance ramp around 8 PM. The downtown I-70 interchange is closed and traffic is routed out to the west I-70 interchange, it was dreadful)

I drove over it on Tuesday and it seemed pretty close to peak, not sure how long those leaves hang around on the trees after they hit that point.
