GOOD NEWS ON THE LOST LLAMA FRONT!!! We have retrieved the second llama who is perfectly fine. Thanks to a helpful hunter. It seems he was over his sabbatical. So all is good. It's been a long three months.

This is great news. Hopefully this shows people who are anti-hunt, what sportsmanship is all about.

Their names are Cisneros and Clavio. Thanks to all you caring people. What a great community the 14ers are.

I was a little surprised at the part of the Sun article that said they couldn't communicate with the shepherd in Spanish. Most Basque that I encountered in the Pyrenees spoke Spanish or French quite well when they had to deal with non-Basque people, but preferred to speak Basque among themselves.
The linked post was a fascinating read to this once-and-future linguist; thanks for sharing it all those months ago. I still want the Sun or someone to come in and do a deep-dive on the Basque influence in SW Colorado's particular corner of the American West, because that piece of the original story sure had me doing a double-take.

I've read llamas dont like being alone, so they recommend owning at least two. Any sign loneliness hurt the second llama?
